Don Cherry discusses injury prevention in Coach’s Corner

Sometimes we post Coach's Corner, and sometimes we don't...But I think that Don Cherry's points about NHL teams' responsibilities to their fans (in Vancouver especially, using the Canadiens' switch to glass that "gives" as having a marked result in reduced injuries) to get rid of seamless glass, his message to everyone about throat guards and his clarification of his, "If somebody's trying to run you, get your stick up" comments are worth the bandwidth:

Kinda funny dichotomy about Don Cherry. When it comes to player safety type deals, he’s actually been very progressive for a long long time (I can remember him ranting on some of these same topics as a kid growing up in the early ‘90s watching HNIC). Just don’t let him get down the rabbit hole of them gursh durn Europeans when compared to a good ol’ Canadian boy.
