Doan Frustrated

The numbers aren't what Shane Doan had envisioned — neither the Coyotes' record nor his statistics. "It's frustrating when you lose, and it's frustrating when you feel that you need to contribute more in order to win," said Doan, who finished 22nd in the league two seasons ago in scoring with 68 points (27 goals, 41 assists). "It's not like we've been getting blown out of games. If I could generate some offense, it could go a long ways. Right now I just don't seem to do that enough." In the past, when experiencing a slump, Doan would deliver a few big hits and, shortly afterward, his scoring touch would return. But with the new NHL rules, players aren't allowed to be as physical as before, so Doan has had to alter his approach.
