Doan Fined For Boarding

NEW YORK (March 16, 2012)—Phoenix Coyotes forward Shane Doan has been fined $2,500, the maximum allowed under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for boarding Calgary Flames defenseman Mark Giordano during NHL Game #1058 in Calgary on Thursday, March 15, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.
The incident occurred at 7:49 of the first period. Doan was assessed a minor penalty for boarding on the play.

Doan was so upset at the call too, and I have no idea why - it was clearly a boarding call.
