Do You Want Avery On Your Team?

As a Pen’s fan I want to say yes, because I think it would irk Philly and NYR so much.  A line of Asham-Adams-Avery would be downright frustrating to play against, not to mention Cooke and Avery on the same team… wow.

That being said, I don’t think Shero even considers it and that’s probably for the best.  I think he heads to Europe.

Avery is a disgrace.  No way would i want him on my team.  And at 4 million this year, an extra big no thanks!

Maybe Chicago can team him up with Carcillo and Mayers in their “astronomic rise” back to the top…

Haha, good point.  Like I said no chance Shero considers it, but would be fun to watch the circus for a while.

I wouldn’t want him at any price either, but because Avery was claimed off recall waivers from Dallas, his cap hit was halved to only $2 million (Dallas pays half, NYR pays half).

If Avery was claimed on regular waivers, let’s say by Pittsburgh, then the Penguins would pick up the Ranger’s share of the contract, but Dallas would still be on the hook for the other half.

Maybe the Flyers can clear some cap room for him.

let’s not forget the Ducks… the Flyers of the West

There was a French report that said no European teams want him, except this one

Somehow I don’t think he’ll fit

If he is waived, undoubtedly some desperate team will pick him up.  The team that takes him will miss the playoffs.  I am surprised that he has lasted as long as he has with Torterella as coach.  Avery needs to play broom hockey for a few years to appreciate what he had.

Can’t imagine anyone picking up a 4th line agitator who makes $1.9M per…  And so then, why would Sather send him down to Hartford, only to poison your young prospects…  With NYR’s money, I predict an eventual buy-out…

He’s got some use as a third-line forward—I mean, he has skills—but the attitude issues are what’s killing him.  Some people never learn, and Avery just might be one of them.

Well it’s a good thing Avery is/was with the Rangers, because it’s just a hop-skip-& -jump from MSG over to Broadway. They are always looking for a few Drama Queens over there. You would think that when the Wings traded this joker away way back when, that other teams would think twice about signing him???????

$4mil/year ????!!!! Glen Sather you are a genius red face

Glen Sather didn’t sign him to the contract and he’s only paying half that salary.

Can he catch on with some NHL team? Yes. Do I want him on MY NHL team? Make that a resounding NO, even at half the price.  The Rangers are certainly becoming John Tortorella’s team more so than Sather’s.

Time to retire, Sean.  You accomplished a lot as an undrafted UFA.

You also showed yourself to be a supreme pr*ck who is full of himself.

I don’t think he’ll catch on anywhere else, and he certainly has too much ego to play at a lower level…

His ego will certainly pose problems, but will it overshadow the $4M he’ll make this year?
