Do You Watch The NHL All-Star Weekend?

01/22/2018 at 9:27pm EST

Maybe I am getting too old, maybe I have watched enough hockey and I look at the All-Star Weekend as a mini-break.

Perhaps if they took odds at BetNow Sportsbook I would be a bit more interested.

Back in my prime, I enjoyed the All-Star game and maybe it was due to not being oversaturated with hockey on a nightly basis.

Back then, not every game was on TV so any chance to watch a game, any NHL game was a special treat.

Today, any game can be watched, streamed or twittered about.

But back to the All-Star talk. I get it, it is entertainment and geared towards a much younger crowd.

The NHL players do care and attempt to put on a good show for the fans, but their number one priority of the weekend is not to get injured and be ready to play when the break is over.

Some of the skills competition is fun to watch and with some new details this year, it may be a watch moment for me.

The games/shinny themselves, I understand the format but truthfully, it is not must watch TV for me. No one remembers who won, who scored and a day after the event, we move on to the regular season again.

The ASG weekend is what it is, strictly entertainment and hopefully the adjusted skills competition does bring some wow moments.

Many of you know I tend to look at the positive side when it comes to the NHL, try to remain neutral as much as I can, and hope for the best because I have no input or control of the decisions the NHL makes.

It is a little unusual for me to take a look at the ASG weekend and do hope one day fans can enjoy the game like I once did.

But I don't every see it happening. Just imagine a team of all-stars facing off against the Stanley Cup champs, the Pittsburgh Penguins.

That is what I remember back in the day when viewing an All-Star game. Times have changed and so has the NHL.
