from Rich Chere of NJ.com,
Patrik Elias, back from a groin injury and desperate to help the Devils get back into the playoff picture, heard the boos from the Prudential Center crowd of 15,379.
Although the Devils lost their fifth straight home game (0-3-2), Elias thought the booing was inappropriate.
“They were booing. They were disappointed. So were we. Trust me,” Elias said after the 2-0 loss to the Ottawa Senators Wednesday night. “But we didn’t deserve that today. The effort was there. We were the better team. We understand it, but it wasn’t deserved tonight. I didn’t appreciate it.”
