I don’t watch soccer of any kind, but did a bit of research and found the USA is ranked #1 while Thailand is ranked #34.
It that was a hockey game, all I know the people who did the celebrating would have their neck on a swivel for the rest of the game.

Agreed. I watched the 2nd half of the game, and it was disturbing to watch the celebrations, when the score was 8:0, 9:0 and so on. The team should be embarrassed.

Embarrassing, but not surprised from this selfish SJW, who already stands alone amongst her teammates not honoring the US National anthem, and makes everything a spectacle about her her her, why would her making a goal about her her her surprise anyone? She has no respect.
If that were a hockey game, she would’ve been run.

I not only absolutely agree, I’ve said the same to many many teams, once you get about 5 goals up on an inferior opponent, you score you come to the bench for a change like it was an icing, never show up your opponent, always win with class you lose with class.

That 9-0 celebration is over the top. I’d expect people to be harder, not easier on a man celebrating like that, because they would almost for sure not be American.

Not surprised, but disappointed, that Abby pulled the “If this were the men’s team…” card. That was unnecessary and only a means of diverting the topic to something else.
I love watching this women’s soccer team, but this is embarrassing. I’m over the top competitive, but this is just un-sportsmanlike.

What makes it worse is that these women are elite level athletes, they’ve been told not to celebrate in a blowout game since they were kids. They have all been in this situation before and should know better. And double shame on the coaching staff for allowing it to continue.

Put me down for “this is not a gender issue.” Run up the score, fine. Celebrations like that are ludicrous.
STFU, Abby.

Absolutely. It bothered me as I was watching it. I have no issue with them running up the score, since pulling back would be more disrespectful, IMO. But celebrating like that when you’re already up 8 against a vastly inferior opponent. Come on. That’s a more embarrassing look for the US than it is for Thailand.
