from Rich Chere of the Star-Ledger,
It has become apparent that Devils general manager Lou Lamoriello must focus his attention on obtaining a left winger for the team’s top line.
With five weeks remaining before the NHL’s March 5 trade deadline, the Devils have not been able to find a suitable linemate for Travis Zajac and Jaromir Jagr since Dainius Zubrus was moved off that unit. With coach Pete DeBoer having said he is happy with his other forward configurations, Lamoriello may have to ratchet up his search for a veteran winger who can score....
Although Jacob Josefson stepped in alongside Zajac and Jagr for Sunday’s outdoor game against the Rangers, a search for help seems to be in the cards.
In fact, it would not be surprising to see Lamoriello bring in a veteran defenseman, as well. Rookie defenseman Eric Gelinas gives the Devils an offensive threat on the blue line and he has played well enough defensively for stretches, but DeBoer tends to lean towards experienced veterans down the stretch and in the playoffs.
