from Rich Chere of the Star-Ledger,
Jaromir Jagr will remain with the Devils for another season.
The veteran right winger's agent, Petr Svoboda, told The Sar-Ledger a deal was very close on what is believed to be a one-year contract for approximately $5 million.
"Absolutely. The deal is very very close but it's not finalized yet," Svovoda said. "Lou (Lamoriello) will let you know as soon as it's complete."
Jagr said after the regular season ended that he wanted to return to the Devils. The fact that he will not test the market as an unrestricted free agent confirmed that New Jersey was his first choice.
"Absolutely. He loved his time there last year and that's where he wants to be," Svoboda.
