Can we get anything close to it for Nyquist?

Holland is waiting for the smoke to clear.

Serious, IMO the only player moved before TD is Green, and the return may not be what many think it will be.

No, simply because he is a small winger with a crappy playoff record.

I don’t know, if slotted on a 3rd line with a contender I think he could be pretty dangerous.  Although, if a team intends you use him that way their trade offer is going to reflect that. But, nothing wrong with clearing that cap space (if used properly).

Ottawa likes big slow aging pylon defenseman. I’ll be impressed if they can trade Karlsson for a ton of picks and prospects though.

Kenny won’t get crap for anybody. The guy couldn’t sell water to a man dying of thirst.

If you mean less than he’s worth, yeah probably.

Kenny got a hell of a return for Smith. Who was waived after signing his career contact.

Nyquist in your opinion is worth more than what Ottawa just got from Pens for Brassard?

Green, and the return may not be what many think it will be.

I am not sure anybody expects anything positive out of KH anymore. Just “do not screw up” any more than you did seems to be the general thinking.

“open for business” was Kenny’s statement. That won’t cut it. In sales you have to make “sales calls” that means you have to sell the players not wait around for some other GM to call you.

Regarding the Brassard trade, NHL says it is complicated.

So we wait for official release.

I love how people like to fill in the blanks in order to craft their anti-KH agenda.

It’s not really anti Kenny so much as it’s waiting around for something to happen while the world passes you by.

Tired of this lame team

There is absolutely no need to craft anti-KH agenda. Look at the last 7 years and no need to craft anything.

No, I think what he is saying is he feels like Ottawa got less than what Brassard was worth.  So if your question was can Holland get something similar, he is saying if what you mean by similar is ‘less than what x player is worth’ then the answer is ‘Yes’.

Maybe that what he means, thank you. If you can get a first rounder in this deep draft for any second tier player (not superstar), it’s a good return imo. And I certainly hope KH called Toronto and Tampa about Nyquist the minute Brassard trade was announced.

Bob McKenzie tweet,

PIT-OTT deal involving Brassard is ultra-complicated, so much so that Brassard will likely first be traded to a team other than PIT. Then flipped to PIT. Hearing that third team is likely VGK. Potential for layers of salary retention.

It’s as if the whole league is trying so hard to accommodate the Pens.

If Ottawa first eats 50% of Brassards salary, and then trades him to the wings, can the wings eat 50% and then trade him to the Knights so they can eat 50% and then trade him to the Pens?  We are up against it and still need to sign EK.

Thanks

Kypreos tweet,

Hearing @NHL has rejected the   Brassard trade unless @penguins @Senators @GoldenKnights can restructure the trade to leagues satisfaction.

I hate the Penguins, but is this specifically against the rules? I’m guessing you add the third team to assume a percentage of the salary, and you give them an asset. Is it really against the rules or just against the spirit of the rules?

I find it weird, but then again I’m used to NBA trades where this crap happens all the time.  NBA does 3- and 4-way trades an awful lot for this very reason.

I’d say if PIT finally figured this out, good for them.

Apparently Riley Sheahan wasn’t their answer at C though.  Real shocker there.

Just the opposite, he’s been quite a pleasant surprise.

8 goals and 24 points in 53 games since the trade on the 3rd line.

Just bump him down to 4th line center, make the depth that much deeper…..
