Demers Breaks It Down

Parity in the NHL is at an all-time high. Before the lockout, you used to have five or six teams that could win the Stanley Cup. Now with the salary cap, it's not an exaggeration to say 20 or more teams have a legitimate shot. A favorite would have to be the Philadelphia Flyers, especially after they added Peter Forsberg. But they're usually in the hunt. To me, a new team to watch is the Columbus Blue Jackets, who made major improvements during the summer. They never would have been able to sign an Adam Foote under the old system.
