Daze Near Retirement

from the Chicago Sun-Times,
'I had some talks with the Hawks and some other teams, but nothing major,'' Daze said. ''It would have been basically tryouts. I was thinking about seeing what was in front of me, but my back made my decision for me.'' Daze thought he was on the road to recovery during the summer. He had been working with a personal trainer in Montreal and had been back on the ice for a month. But during an on-ice workout two weeks ago, he felt pain again. ''I tried reaching for a puck and got hit,'' Daze said. ''That tweaked it again, and I didn't go back on the ice.'' And he might not again.
