David Perron Signs Four-Year Deal With Blues

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the club has signed forward David Perron to a four-year contract.

“We’re excited to have David in the fold for the next four years,” said Armstrong.  “He made a great comeback by scoring 21 goals in 57 games.  We’re comfortable with his health, and we’re confident that he will continue to build on his offense.”

“I love the city of St. Louis and I’m thrilled to play in front of these awesome fans for another four years,” said Perron.  “We had an excellent regular season but we all feel this team has so much more to accomplish.”

that’s a good contract for st. louis.  once their young guys figure out how good they are, watch out.

From what I had been hearing, the Blues were hesitant with a long-term due to concussion history.

But the price looks good for them and if Perron blossoms, well, he may be thinking he should have gone short-term.

I’m still shocked by Crosby’s deal, with no insurance. I don’t see his career lasting past Christmas. Maybe Christmas 2014, but still. A lot to bite off if things go south.
