from Steve Simmons of the Toronto Sun,
In what may have been the most poignant and dramatic moment in the sexual exploitation trial of David Frost, defence attorney Marie Henein aggressively and sarcastically attacked the credibility of key witness Kristy Boyer.
“We know there were threesomes with Mr. Frost in Deseronto,” Henein questioned in cross examination, “Because you say so?”
But a shaking and clearly upset Boyer maintained her composure, stared at Henein and whispered cryptically: “Because I know so.”
When everything else is stripped away, this is the essence of the case against Frost, the former hockey coach, who faces four charges of sexual exploitation involving teenaged hockey players.
The verdict in this case will be delivered today by Justice Geoffrey Griffin in a Napanee courtroom.
update 12:49pm, Frost found not guilty on four counts.
added 12:53pm, from Sportsnet,
Notorious former agent and coach David Frost was found not guilty on four charges of sexual exploitation involving minors in a Napanee, ON, courtroom on Friday.
In his ruling, Judge Geoff Griffin stated that the Crown did not prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the alleged offences occurred.
