Athletes for Animals is designed to bring professional athletes together in support of companion animals across the country. The Backes’ were inspired by nearly a decade of animal welfare and rescue efforts and decided that it was time to make a larger impact on the lives of homeless companion animals nationwide.
Already gaining support from athletes from the NHL, MLB and NFL Athleres for Animals is encouraging these celebrities to speak at fundraisers, volunteer at their local shelters and make charitable donations in pursuit of a common goal.
”As athletes with great playforms we have an obligation to give back to the community,” David Backes stated, “As animal lovers, this organization allows that platform to be leveraged for a cause that we love to support.”
