Too bad. Wish him well.
Thinking about the bigger picture, with more extensive testing now days that reveal damage from concussions, it probably won’t be too long that hard hits in sports are going to happen less and less by means of rule changes.
At least the NHL is sorta getting it that head shots gotta go. Still, hockey as a no contact sport, just isn’t hockey.

Have a feeling we’re just starting to see that there’s an iceburg below the surface. In hindsight, there’re a lot of guys who just fell off the map, like Scatchard, that may have retired due to concussions that nobody ever knew about. Letowski and Kapannen (both victims of then-legal rule48 hits by Colby Armstrong) both come to mind, as does that dude Ovechkin freight trained head-first into the wall (former Capital, name escapes me).
