Dave Tippett Felt It Was Time For A Change

from Sarah McLellan of azcentral sports,

“It’s been a long go here trying to keep things going, and now with the change of ownership again – or change of direction again – the instability of the rink and stuff, it just seemed like the right time for them and for me,” Tippett said. “There’s nothing I could put my finger on. Just time for a change.”

Talks about Tippett’s future with the Coyotes had started before his trip to Chicago. How long this conversation had been going on was unclear, with Tippett just saying, “a while.” He still, however, was in Chicago because he thought it was “best just to come and get in front of everybody.”...

“You feel it’s time for a change,” Tippett said. “I feel like I needed a change now. Seemed like the right time with ownership changing and Doaner and Smitty – not that those are excuses. But just a lot of things built up and just time to try something new.”

Tippett said the decisions to cut ties with Smith and Doan weren’t part of his reason for leaving, instead citing the need for a fresh start. Asked if he agreed with the moves, Tippett said: “They were organizational moves that were made. That’s just the way it goes.”

I think the Wings organization need to get Tippett signed onto the payroll as a organizational coach.  I cannot see whats his name Blas lasting the year, he should have been fired long ago.  With Tippett waiting in the Wings (lol) putting pressure on Blas will have to perform or the door.
