from Nichols On Hockey,
Darren Dreger was on Montreal’s TSN 690 on Thursday morning.
On if he can expand on Bob Duff’s article in the Windsor Star that it’s imminent Mike Babcock will re-up with the Detroit Red Wings:
“I would say what’s imminent is Ken Holland and the Detroit Red Wings making an offer that would make Mike Babcock the highest-paid coach in the National Hockey League. It’ll be a five-year term and the money will come just over $3 million. That’s better than Joel Quenneville. That’s more than Claude Julien of the Boston Bruins, who just recently signed his extension.
“The question I have: Is Babcock going to accept it? And I’m not convinced he is. I’m not convinced he is.”
