from Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News,
The Stars official stance on Jamie Benn is that he will be “re-assessed” on Sunday after a hard hit by Phoenix’s Martin Hanzal in the final two minutes of Dallas’ 2-1 loss to the Coyotes Saturday. They are not listing any injury at this time.
While the Stars won’t say it, they definitely are concerned about a potential concussion for Benn.
No penalty on this hit. Was it late, from the blindside, headshot?

A hip check would have accomplished the same thing with no risk of injury. If the point of suspensions is to encourage alternative conduct, this one is a slam dunk Shanny.

I think that was a good hit. It wasn’t late, he didn’t target the head, he didn’t lunge or jump and it wasn’t blindside, and it wasn’t particularly vicious.

Precedent has already been set. If that hit on Datsyuk a couple weeks ago was clean then this one is as well.
