ARLINGTON, VA. – The Washington Capitals have acquired left wing Curtis Glencross from the Calgary Flames in exchange for a second-round and a third-round pick in the 2015 NHL Draft, senior vice president and general manager Brian MacLellan announced today.

“Curtis is a player we coveted and we are pleased that he decided to waive his no-trade clause to join our team,” MacLellan said. “We felt we needed to get deeper and more experienced at the forward position. Curtis plays important minutes and his presence on-and-off the ice will benefit our young forwards.”

Glencross, 32, has registered 268 points (130 goals, 138 assists) in 489 career NHL games with Anaheim, Columbus, Edmonton and Calgary. The 6’1”, 194-pound left wing earned 28 points (nine goals, 19 assists) in 53 games with Calgary this season. Glencross earned 242 points (114 goals, 128 assists) in 418 games during his seven seasons with Calgary (2008-15) and ranks 26th on the Flames franchise games played list. He served as the team’s alternate captain in each of the last three seasons (2012-15).
