Frisco, Tex. – Dallas Stars General Manager Joe Nieuwendyk announced today that Head Coach Marc Crawford has been relieved of his coaching duties, effective immediately.
“I would like to thank Marc for the hard work he provided to the Dallas Stars over the last two seasons,” said Nieuwendyk. “We wish him the best in the future.”

Lets see Nieuwendyk fires Tippett who goes to Phoenix & turns the laughing stock of the League into a Playoff team & He hires Crawford who is fired 2 years later ! Brilliant move Joe

I’ve never thought much of Crawford since he put his previous teams’ interests behind his inexplicable belief in the abysmal Dan Cloutier.

Marc Crawford is the coach who ordered Bertuzzi’s hit on Moore and the coach who continually let Steve Ott off his leash.
the NHL is a better place without him.

My thoughts exactly, Evilpens. Good thing they fired Tippett. Way to go, Dallas!

Dave Tippett is a much better coach than Marc Crawford though (IMO) so it’s not quite an apples to apples comparison here ...
Still, brutal end to the season for Dallas.

ncognetis My biggest worry was Mafia Lou actually doing something smart for a change & hiring Tippett & he hired Lemaire again !
Nice Job Lou

Yeah, Devils sure tanked when they brought Lemaire on board ...
Actually seems like it was the perfect bailout hiring. Lemaire came in and righted the ship, returned some hope to New Jersey, and now Lou can take a second stab at hiring a new coach.
Course, he still could screw that up. But give Lemaire some credit with what he did.

UMMM they shit the bed in the playoffs & retired because players hated him for notifying them via text message that they weren’t playing

Given the fact that when he was coach of the Nordique West , crawford, in the heat of a playoff battle, made a crack to Scotty about the plate Bowman has in his skull, I have zero respect for that turd. Hopefully he never gets another NHL gig.

So glad that piece of shit for a coach is out of the league. Stay in Denver with your Patty Wah doll, Crawford.
