Could Be Traded Before The Draft

from Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun,

1. Rick Nash, LW, Columbus: If talk indeed turns to action, Nash will be dealt this summer.

The New York Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs and San Jose Sharks were left at the altar at the February trade deadline because they weren’t willing to pay the massive price being demanded by Blue Jackets GM Scott Howson….

2. Roberto Luongo, G, Vancouver: There are a lot of teams looking for goaltending: Toronto, the Tampa Bay Lightning, Columbus and the Chicago Blackhawks to name a few.

The issue is the contract given to Luongo by Canucks GM Mike Gillis. He always considers himself the smartest guy in the room, but giving Luongo a deal through with a cap hit of $5.3 million through 2021-22 was ridiculous….

3. Jordan Staal, C, Pittsburgh: This guy would attract plenty of attention. He is the best third-line centre in the league….

Several teams would like to make a pitch for Staal — including the Buffalo Sabres and St. Louis Blues. The Sabres want to get bigger in the middle, which is why Derek Roy has been made available.

continue for more on the above plus two other players are included, Jonathan Bernier and Tim Thomas…

Which?

Nash?  Possibly, but would prefer Parise.
Luongo?  NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
Staal?  I don’t know why his name isn’t mentioned as much as Nash and Parise.  A top PK unit of Staal and Helm would seem insane.  Truthfully though I think the Pens will want the world for Staal….

Cold day in hell before the Hawks pick up that choker Bobby-Lou.. They know first hand how weak he is between the ears.  My bet is they make a call about the Kings backup Bernier.

Nash has a reputation as a coach killer and a loafer. That could be because he’s been in the hellhole that is Columbus, or it could be legitimate.

Luongo to the Hawks has disaster written all over it, but a Kane for Luongo deal would be interesting…

I’m still not convinced Helm is a good PKer.
