Cory Sarich Fined

NEW YORK (Dec. 31, 2011) – Calgary Flames defenseman Cory Sarich has been fined $2,500, the maximum allowed under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for making contact with the head of an opponent who did not play the puck, Ottawa Senators forward Erik Condra, in NHL Game No. 552 in Ottawa on Friday, Dec. 30, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.
The incident occurred at 7:46 of the third period. A minor penalty for interference was assessed to Sarich.
