Concern Over Crosby?

from Joe Starkey of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review,

Penguins winger Lee Stempniak unintentionally delivered the funniest line of the playoffs Saturday morning at Southpointe.

“I don't think anyone's really worried about Sid or Geno,” Stempniak said.

He's partially right. Nobody's too worried about Evgeni Malkin since his hat trick in Game 6 at Columbus.

As for Sid, well, nobody but an entire region (Western Pennsylvania) and an entire country (Canada) seems all that obsessed with his travails. My goodness, in Canada they're running Zapruder-style films of his speed variations and wondering, with reason, if he is injured.

All I know is this: Crosby often seems strangely disengaged in these playoffs. And it's a fact that if he doesn't find the net Sunday in Game 2 of this Eastern Conference semifinal, he will be mired in the longest goal-scoring drought of his career.

NO Sid’s Problem is he is OCD & he doesn’t have 1 of his 2 security blankets Pascal Dupuis & Kunitz has been garbage since the Olympics. & the game Plan for teams has always been Try to make Sid & Gino pass the Puck Make the other 4 guys on the ice beat us !

From HF Penguins Boards I put the link in but it is dead

Albeit briefly, he publicly broke from coach Dan Bylsma to insist that goalie Marc-Andre Fleury be granted the opportunity to play through his early struggles in October 2010. Last season, Crosby privately presented Bylsma with reasons why he believed removing right winger Pascal Dupuis from the top line in favor of Jarome Iginla could potentially negatively impact the Penguins’ chemistry.

If there are any issues with the Pens right now I expect they are attributable largely to Bylsma being a sub-par coach. I am amazed he has managed to keep his job this long. In a series he never makes adjustments and often is out coached.
