04/05/2018 at 3:51pm EDT

Avalanche coach Jared Bednar watched the Chicago Blackhawks’ comeback victory at St. Louis on television Wednesday night, and suffice to say, it put a smile on his face.

Colorado plays at San Jose on Thursday night and hosts the Blues on Saturday in the regular-season finale for both teams. If the Avs finish 2-0, they will advance to the playoffs. If they win Thursday and St. Louis loses Friday at Chicago, the Avs will clinch a playoff spot before Saturday.
