Cody McLeod Suspended Five Games

The Malik Report has the video explanation of the McLeod suspension.

Some people were mentioning 3-4 games so the 5 games may be a litle higher than what was expected.

Fgive is very high for first time offender with mitigating factors. Not sure how Shanahan will ever fit this into his wheel of justice.

He had an in-person hearing.  Why was anyone expecting less than five?

Garth, an in-person hearing only means the NHL can suspend more than five games, but doesn’t mean it will.

I believe there have been at least two instances this season where a player was given the in-person hearing option and received less than a five game suspension.

I’m pretty sure the only in-person hearing this year that didn’t result in at least five games was Pulkkinen.

Even so, getting fewer than five after an in-person hearing is by far the exception to the rule which is why I was wondering why people would expect less.
