City Of Pittsburgh Plan

from David Shoalts of the Globe and Mail,

...The opening position of the City of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County governments in negotiations for Plan B, as the search for a new arena is now called, were not encouraging for local hockey fans. This plan called for the Penguins to contribute $8.5-million up front plus $2.9-million a year for 30 years and an additional $1.16-million a year from the naming rights.
Since the Pittsburgh Steelers football team and Pittsburgh Pirates baseball team kept 100 per cent of their naming rights in deals with the same governments for new stadiums and used that money to pay most of their share of the building costs, the Penguins cannot be happy with this proposal.
