from Brad Ziemer of the Vancouver Sun,
“Your foot swells up, it turns all red and it is not comfortable,” he added. “You just feel it all the time. It feels like someone is blowing air in a balloon pretty much with the amount of pressure you have.”
His teammates haven’t yet started calling him Bigfoot, but if this keeps happening. . .
What concerns Higgins is the fact that no one has been able to figure out why it is happening.
“It’s scary because I don’t know how I got it and I don’t really know where it’s from,” he said. “And I guess once you get it you are more susceptible to getting it another time, so it’s something I am going to have to be very conscious of going forward.” Higgins hasn’t been able to get answers to many of the questions he has about his foot. For example, he wonders if the virus had just been sitting dormant for the past year and will it return?
