Chicago/St. Louis Series Only To Get Nastier

At around the :44 second mark...

Toews is confused...

from Mark Lazerus of the Chicago Sun-Times,

“There were some moments that were just confusing, some stuff that was called against us after the whistle,” Toews said. “Granted, it went their way as well. Some little things that we don’t want to get frustrated. We don’t want to get too heated with the calls we don’t agree with, but we know that’s going to happen, and we’ve got to keep playing through that.”

Crawford was particularly upset with the immediate aftermath of Brent Seabrook’s devastating hit on Backes, when Alexander Steen came in hot to avenge the play.

“Their guy comes flying in and throws his gloves off and starts throwing punches like crazy,” Crawford said. “I don’t know why nothing was called there. Call [Seabrook for] five minutes is fine. You got your point across. Apparently, guys are allowed to come in flying into a scrum throwing punches, and that’s fine, that’s OK. Whatever.”

Did you read Q’s lips behind the bench (just after Seabrooke leaves the ice)?  I do believe the translation is ‘fuching joke’

Buncha whiners. The Hawks are generally a clean team until their backs are against the wall, then they turn very dirty and act like nobody should notice. Their sense of entitlement is ridiculous.

Honestly, taunting a player who was clearly run with a hit to the head and is dazed? Seems douchey to me.

I think the Hawks are just channeling their coach here, being sore losers. They are going down and they know it, so to mitigate this they take their whining about the officiating to the media.

This years playoff run is altering my opinion of the team and the players on it. I would not have expected Toews to whine like that. Seabrook is also a piece of crap for running Backes. Clear intent to injure on that play and I hope they give him more than the one game slap on the wrist he is likely to get.

It says a lot to me that whenever the Hawks face adversity, Toews becomes a big baby and takes dumb penalties.  He did it when things unraveled against the Wings last year, and he did it again yesterday against the Blues?

Do you know what other captain gets mentally unhinged if things don;t go perfectly his way?  David Backes.

I can’t take either of them seriously as captains.

Yeah, they are horrendous bad sports, but I’m not convinced yet they are going down. B-lose have needed the escape hatch twice so far to win two home games. Not exactly a ringing endorsement.

Duncan Keith is the worst of them all with his sneaky intents to injure.

Honestly, I don’t like either team.. but i WANT chicago to Lose. So… in the meantime… go b-lose…
Yeah looks like seabrook could have made a cleaner hit, does not look like he cared if Backes would die on the play or not. Just made the hit as if he was meant to hit all the time.
