Kukla's Korner Hockey

Carolina Party

from Pat Hickey of the Montreal Gazette,
I've been in the RBC Centre when it has been half-empty, but there's no denying the excitement in the building when the National Hockey League playoffs come to town. The last two games here have featured overflow crowds - the team was selling standing-room tickets for $95 - and there isn't another rink in the league with a higher percentage of fans wearing home-team jerseys. Not that the jerseys are mandatory. The party-like atmosphere is reflected in some unusual garb. One row was filled with fans in black formal attire, while two other fans were spotted with yellow and powder-blue tuxes with matching top hats.
