Carlyle Creates Competition

from the Winnipeg Sun,
“Right from the first day I got the job, we were able to create competition for positions and we were going to play an up-tempo style. If you didn’t want to do that. At one point, our team made a change and took on a personality, they understood how they had to play and what we were trying to do to give ourselves the best possible chance at success.”Ducks GM Brian Burke was adamant Carlyle was the right man for the job and he was not mistaken. “He did a great job for us, he’s been terrific,” said Burke. “When you finish in sixth place in the West, you don’t get any votes for coach of the year and he should have. “I like ass kickers behind the bench and he’s an ass kicker. He demands accountability of the players and he gets them to perform.”
