Once again, Shanahan explains the suspension.

7? That’s it???
Should have been minimum of 10. Probably 12.

Guys like Carcillo need to be ejected from the game. They serve absolutely no purpose other than to put others on the ice in danger.

Now let me get this straight. Brendon Smith for the Wings gets five games for his pre-season hit with no priors, and this creep gets seven with eight priors (one was for ruffing up a ref) and two games just a month or so ago. How about this eight priors times four for Smith and that = 32 games. OK that might be to harsh but atleast 16 sounds fair to me.

That’s five regular season PLUS three pre-season…

These suspensions are a joke.

Sorry Shanny, you missed big time with this one.

A huge opportunity to flag down repeat offenders and set an example is missed, Shanny.  He should’ve suspended to the end of the season and playoffs included.

One less game than that dirty son-of-a-bit Brendan Smith? Oh, wait, Brendan Smith isn’t a dirty player. Why the 8 games then shanaban?

Considering Bourque got 5 and this play was way more dangerous I’m surprised Carcillo only got 7. 10 or 12 would have been closer.

Well boys, in the end we want the TNT Kid to be around to take a beauty of a penalty during a key playoff moment.

And break Pavel’s leg on some cheap crap like that? Screw that. Carcillo should be out of the game. Period.

I hadn’t seen any injury update regarding Carcillo after making that hit. Is he going to be out on injury at all? And if so, does the suspension take place simultaneously or after returning from injury?

Carcillo can’t begin serving his suspension until he’s cleared to play.

... which is supposed to be something the team doctors get to decide.  Let’s see if that’s the case…
