Cap Clarification

via the Washingotn Times:

NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly met with the media before the game and discussed a variety of topics from the financial health of the Caps to possible rule and scoring changes to the league’s television contract with Versus. Daly said that provided the league does not take into account inflation factors, a Toronto Star report of a projected $48 million salary cap for the 2007-08 season is accurate. The salary floor for next season would then be projected at $32 million. Washington is the only franchise in the league projected to spend less than that this season.
