Canucks Need Some Offense

fromm Tony Gallagher at the Vancouver Province,

There are rumours around the league about the Canucks and New Jersey talking trade with the names of Brendan Morrison and Patrik Elias being mentioned in the twittering, obviously not even up.
How much there is to it remains to be seen, likely not a great deal. With the loss of Brian Rafalski and Scott Gomez going into their new rink in Newark, N.J., the Devils have a lot of pressure to create some sizzle and there is considerable speculation GM Lou Lamoriello will do something big.
Lamoriello has considerable room under the cap right now, but there aren’t many significant players left as free agents to spend it. He could certainly take on higher numbers in trades for bigger name players—and with that in mind, most believe he’ll find a way to create some excitement this way—although whether this involves the Canucks remains to be seen.
