Canes Lose Dman

The Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes will be without one of their best offensive players when they begin defense of their title next month. The Hurricanes announced Monday that defenseman Frantisek Kaberle underwent shoulder surgery and will be sidelined at least four months.

Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that defenseman Frantisek Kaberle underwent surgery this morning on his shoulder. Dr. Anthony A. Romeo performed the surgery at Rush Medical Center in Chicago, and Kaberle is expected to need four to six months to recover from the procedure.
