Canadiens Not Making The Grade

If the goal is to make the playoffs, the Canadiens have reached the midway point in the National Hockey League season with a failing grade. There are any number of reasons that can be offered to explain the poor performance. Inconsistent goaltending, injuries and difficulty adjusting to the new rules have been cited as factors in the team's slide after the best start in the team's history. The bottom line is that the points the Canadiens squirreled away in the fall haven't been enough to keep the team in the top eight in the Eastern Conference.
