Garth Snow and Charles Wang should be livid. And, Ed Snider certainly received more ammo for his future anti-Olympic participation rants.

Bob Nicholson, president and CEO was on Prime Time Sports about 1/2 hour ago, said Tavares has a serious knee injury but would not go into more details until the doctors do their thing.

The left leg whiplashes at the knee when 32 hits him in the upper left thigh/hip area. Can’t get a real good look at the right leg, but his right skate, bearing 100% of his weight, continues to point straight ahead as his torso is spun clockwise. So it could be either knee. I think its the left because he goes down rather than trying to get that left leg under him.

He certainly felt whatever happened right away and crumpled to the ice.

I’ll bet a few hundred imaginary dollars on it being the left MCL.
