Kukla's Korner Hockey

A KK reader dropped this in our email box tonight. Mike expressed concern that maybe suspensions aren’t being taken as seriously as we’d all hope:
The league’s disciplinarian should probably be aware that not only is Steve Downie flouting the suspension handed down to him, but he’s also setting up goals…
Here’s the screenshot from the Yahoo! boxscore earlier tonight:
That Downie is so talented. At the time of this posting, the boxscore still registers his point—while simultaneously showing he spent zero time on the ice, and with the full knowledge that he’s on suspension. Quite the accomplishment… On the other hand, NHL.com officially pronounces that Umberger provided the only assist. So…. who is lying here? Is it a Philly conspiracy?!? WHO WAS THAT MASKED MAN??!! (Okay, never mind. I’m afraid I’m still delirious from watching the Canucks get their asses handed to them with a shot score of 39-15 by the Wings. Now THAT boxscore I believe…)
