Calgary, AB – The Calgary Flames announced today that they have named Glen Gulutzan as head coach. Gulutzan joins the Flames after spending the past three seasons as an assistant coach with the Vancouver Canucks.
Gulutzan, a native of Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan, brings 15 years of coaching experience to the club. Prior to serving the Canucks, the 44-year-old was the head coach of the Dallas Stars for the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons and before that, he led the American Hockey League’s Texas Stars for a pair of campaigns. In 2009-10, he took the AHL’s Stars to the Calder Cup finals.
