Calgary Flames Face Two Canadian Opponents For Most Expensive Tickets On Secondary Market

09/12/2015 at 11:49am EDT

By Joe Sudberg,

The Calgary Flames were the darling story in the Western Conference last season, taking many media projections that had them in them at the bottom of the standings and flipping the script, en route to finishing third in the Pacific division and nabbing a spot in the Western Conference playoffs. The Flames were in the postseason for the first time since 2009, and they didn’t disappoint when they got there.

Facing the Vancouver Canucks in the first round, Calgary jumped at the opportunity of pulling off an upset and completed it, taking the series in six games. The Flames ended the series with an emphatic 7-4 victory (winning their first playoff series since 2004 in the process) before falling to the Anaheim Ducks in five games in the second round.

The rebuild is officially over, and now the Flames look to build on their out-of-the-blue success. Although they arrived quicker than anticipated, the Flames expect to stay near the top and qualify for the postseason for a second consecutive year.

With the schedule for next season released, below is information from SeatSmart.com for the most expensive Calgary Flames tickets on the secondary market to look at some key dates for the upcoming campaign.

10/16/2015 | Winnipeg Jets vs. Calgary Flames | MTS Centre | Average Price: $598.51 | Get-in Price: $221

3/21/2016 | Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Calgary Flames | Air Canada Centre | Average Price: $378.46 | Get-in Price: $84

11/7/2015 | Calgary Flames vs. Pittsburgh Penguins | Scotiabank Saddledome | Average Price: $355.09 | Get-in Price: $129

The most expensive games for Calgary next season on the secondary market both come against Canadian opponents on the road. The most expensive is against the Winnipeg Jets on October 16, having an average ticket price of $598.51 and a get-in price of $221 for entrance into the MTS Centre. The next priciest game is opposite the Toronto Maple Leafs in March, as tickets to see the Leafs and Flames square off are going for an average price of $378.46, while the get-in price sits at $84.

The third most expensive game of the season is the most expensive Calgary home game at the Scotiabank Saddledome. The Flames host the Pittsburgh Pirates in early-November with an average ticket price of just over $350 and a get-in price of $129. NHL fans always want to see the Penguins play, whether it’s for love or hate for Sidney Crosby and the rest of the Pittsburgh roster, and this early-season clash is no exception.
