Bryzgalov UFA Stock May Be Falling

from James Mirtle of the Globe and Mail,
With elimination potentially on the way in tomorrow’s Game 4, Coyotes coach Dave Tippett pointed to his goalie as one area that needs to improve.
“We need our goaltender to have an all-world game,” he said.
If Bryzgalov falls short again, it’ll be interesting to see how free agency plays out. The goalie market is crowded with backup options without many starters to choose from, with the only other free agents that have won more than 20 games this season (Tomas Vokoun and Dwayne Roloson) getting up there in years.
Teams have been going cheaper in goal in recent years, too, which could be an issue.

well big time goalies have big games when they are needed… this next game will say a lot about what type of goalie he is.

But…but…Shane Doan told me Bryzgalov was the best player in the Wings/Coyotes series…I swear he did.

Not to mention, Breezy not even reacting to Franzen’s breakaway wrist shot was just a picture of beauty.

Big time goalies have big games more often than simply when they’re on the brink of elimination from the playoffs.

Not taking anything for granted when it comes to Breezer. The guy can still play. I’m expecting him to go lights out.

I think much like Khabibulin before him, he needs the heck out of there. Phoenix is poison to goalie careers, much like Nashville is magic for them.

A bad playoff series isn’t going to completely wreck the market for Bryzgalov. He’s been far too good for far too long for Phoenix and Anaheim before that.

The Wings dominant performance can’t be pinned on Bryzgalov. If it is, then those same people must remove Keith Yandle from Norris considerations.

When Bryzgalov hit waivers and Phoenix picked him up, I was a little jealous. The Wings weren’t particularly in a position to add him back then. But if a goalie of his caliber were to hit the wire a couple of months back, you can be sure Holland would have pulled the trigger.
