Bryan Murray Ready To Make A Deal In Las Vegas

06/22/2015 at 5:46pm EDT

from Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun,

Though Murray has had serious talks -- mostly on Lehner -- with six or seven teams that have goaltending issues, the Senators are hopeful with everybody in one place as part of the annual gathering for the NHL Awards that the talks will heat up with some one-on-one meetings with a few teams.

"When you sit down face-to-face, everybody knows everybody's players today, so when you make an offer or suggest a trade we know if it's going to help them or not and we know whether a return is fair or not," Murray said during the club's pre-draft availability last week.

"So, I think it's easier when you can sit down and look the guy in the eye."

Two teams that have shown the most serious interest in the 23-year-old Lehner are the Edmonton Oilers and Buffalo Sabres. It's believed in both cases the deals involve draft picks in this weekend's annual crapshoot which is why it would be good to get a trade in place as soon as possible.

The Oilers and Sabres both have multiple picks in the first two rounds that they could offer up as part of a package for Lehner. After taking Connor McDavid of the Erie Otters No. 1, the Oilers have the No. 16 selection in the first round along with No. 33 and No. 57 in Round 2.
