Bruins Still Searching For Goaltending

from the Worcester Telegram & Gazette,
Supposedly, the Bruins are interested in San Jose goalie Evgeni Nabokov or Philadelphia goalie Robert Esche, which may be the only accurate part of the rumors. Esche, like all the Flyers, is off to a horrible start, but who wouldn’t be interested in a 28-year-old goalie with career numbers of 2.68 and .900? Ditto for the 31-year-old Nabokov (2.44, .910), although his $5 million salary would be a lot harder to swallow than Esche’s $1 million. The bottom line: The Bruins wouldn’t pull the trigger on a major deal this early knowing what panic trading did to this team last year, not to mention what it did to Wall Street in 1929.
