Kukla's Korner Hockey

from the Boston Herald, What transpires during the first few days - perhaps even the first crazy hours - of the unrestricted free agent market will have an enormous impact on the Bruins. If they hope to return to respectability next season, they must make a successful free agent haul.
Many believe the B’s, after the chaos and rancor of last season, might have a difficult time drawing quality free agents. But they have plenty of money to spend, maybe as much as $25 million, depending on which players they announce today they have bought out. That list is expected to include Alexei Zhamnov ($4.1 million), Shawn McEachern ($1.1 million) and perhaps Travis Green ($700,000).
