Bruins add Rolston

Per Sportsnet’s Nick Kypreos, the Boston Bruins have added Brian Rolston from the New York Islanders:

#SNtrade. Rolston from #Isles is a #Bruin. Done.”

I hope Bruin fans are not hoping for much. He was easily the Islanders worst forward this season. I cannot fathom for the life of me why Boston would want him. Islander fans were warned by the Devil fans to start the season that he would be just awful and it took only 10 games to realize he was on the Island to reach the cap floor and NOT to play hockey. Even then it is beyond reason to understand why he wasn’t waived sooner and let the cap hit do its job, while he sat on his over 35 contract in the AHL.

Isles waived him… THE ISLES! If he was crap on that team what do the Bruins think they’ll get outta him?

Boston lose a point man or something? Because a slapshot from the point is the only thing Rolston does at an NHL level for about 2 years now.

Unless the Bruins style of play is rod hockey there is no system that will make Rolston not be 38 years old. He now shoots from the red line because he can’t keep up and his wind up is so slow it causes turnovers on the forecheck. I would have kept playing for $5 million a year as well, but he’s had a good career and just may not realize it is time to hang it up.
