Breakout Playoffs For Spezza

Murray said the change in Spezza’s game mirrored the change in the team’s game. Last season, the Senators thought they could get by on their offensive skills alone. Then the Sabres took them to school in the playoffs. This year, the Senators learned to embrace the defensive side.
Murray said it was a big commitment for a player such as Spezza to change his game so dramatically.
“You have to understand that there’s a learning curve in this business,” Murray said.
