One day deeper into the NHL free agent market, the Bruins [team stats] again remained on the sidelines.
B’s general manager Peter Chiarelli said unequivocally he will try to sign additional free agent talent only if he can dump salaries off his current payroll. Myriad sources say he has tried for some time to find a team willing to take veteran winger Glen Murray and the $8.3 million he is owed over the next two years.
