Blues Extend T.J. Hensick

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the club has signed forward T.J. Hensick to a one-year contract extension.

Hensick, 24, played in seven games for Colorado last season, recording three points including a goal and two assists.  In addition, he played in 58 games last season for Lake Erie of the AHL, scoring 20 goals and adding 50 assists for 70 points. In 2008-09 he played in 61 games for the Avalanche and recorded 21 points (4g, 17a).

Hensick is good. I’ve watched him for a couple years in the AHL. He was Lake Erie’s only all star in thier first year. I think he’s a metro Detroit kid, too!

He wasn’t that great with the Avs.

Even with all the injuries the Avs had, Hensick still played all but seven games in the minors. 

I wish him the best and that a change of scenery is all he needs, but he looked like he didn’t care that much when he played for the Avs.
