Blackhawks In Serious Trade Discussions

from the Chicago Sun-Times,
Tallon's defensive responses to the fans' demands for new players were revealing. Here are some of them: ''Obviously we're trying to make some trades that make sense for the future. We're not going to trade for a Band-Aid. It would have to be a player that will fit into our future scheme.'' ''We are not waiting to make moves to upgrade the roster. A lot of teams are still not in a position to give up on a certain player. We know what we need and have been in serious discussions with a lot of teams as far as moving a young D-man [presumably defensemen Brent Seabrook, Duncan Keith, Jim Vandermeer or Lasse Kukkonen] for some offense. But we also don't lose sight of the fact that our young D-men are the future of this franchise.''
