Blackhawks win Game 5 3-1, take 3-2 series lead

06/22/2013 at 10:54pm EDT

The game did not lack drama as both Jonathan Toews and Patrice Bergeron were injured during play, but the Boston Bruins surrendered a 2-0 lead on goals by Patrick Kane and could not rally, giving up an empty-netter (off a blatant trip) and dropping a 3-1 decision to Chicago.

The Blackhawks now take a 3-2 series lead into Game 6 on Monday, but Bergeron's and Toews may or may not play....

And here are the game's highlights:

If you missed the updates to the previous post, Toews was declared to have an "upper-body injury" and will be reevaluated tomorrow; Patrice Bergeron went to the hospital and his status was unknown. The CBC showed Bergeron sitting in the back of the ambulance in his undershirt, so he went "under his own power."
